My favorite thing about this volume is that it provides an excellent historical introduction. There are many historical footnotes integrated into the presentation.I would not call this a textbook, but it does contain a fair number of exercises, gently called examples. However the level of these examples ranges from moderate to great difficulty. The text is dated 1930 and does not benefit from a modern view, but all results are rigorously presented, and sufficient background is provided for use by anyone with a background of Integral Calculus.The integral used in the development of the material is the Riemann Integral, but the author includes an appendix covering Lebesgue Integration.The Dover edition is of good physical quality, but my original copy is a bit worn from years of reference so I have purchased an additional copy that remains unwrapped.
Although very dated, it is one of the best books about series. It is not only about Fourier's series. It covers very deep information about analysing series.
Very unreadably poor xerographic reproduction on thin cheap bleeding paper. Every page contains many broken type font which especially make this mathematics book not only useless but also mentally annoying and physically irritating. I returned mine for refund; Amazon was quite polite.

I stuck around because there was a story within this story that drew me in, beyond the typical teenage angst romance- the hoarding mother, the OCD dad, the way they enabled each other within a hugely unhealthy lifestyle that crippled their kid’s emotional growth... Why? How would things change? Was the dad secretly the true hoarder blaming his wife? But ...nope. No explanation or exploration of the sub theme that dominated the entire story between the two main characters. Then there were all these characters whose stories were hinted at throughout the story, but though she made you curious about them, the author never developed them fully, or brought any kind of closure. The best friend, the cousin, the brother... in the end they only served as props to the main characters. It left me feeling like there were all these people I was supposed to care about, but then- they faded away from the story without explanation.and that epilogue? That hasty attempt at an ending to a story that wasn’t even fully told? Sigh.The writer had potential and her style was definitely there, but I feel like poor plot development and characterization undermined her best efforts in the end.
This is a good read. I LOVED the contrast between the main characters and how opposites attract. As well as the fact that 2 people who care for each other can both have completely different points of view without either being wrong... The people are believable and like able. AND I am a sucker for happy endings...
I don't know how she does it, but Chris Cannon always manages to write a book that sucks you.I relate so much to these characters!The story was sweet with some real life problems thrown in.I cannot wait to see what's next!

DNF at 35%I received an ARC from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. My thoughts and opinions are my own.Bookish girl, Harry Potter references, and a neighborly romance--all things I thought I would love about this book. However, everything felt forced. The quips and snarky comments, the conversations between Nina and West, and even the Harry Potter references themselves. At one point West compares Nina to Luna Lovegood, but it just doesn't make sense.I love that Nina was confident and always wanted to tell the truth regardless of the consequences, but she was also incredibly pushy. She threw her thoughts and opinions around like no one could possibly feel differently. It was like she was too perfect at times. She never argued with her family, always did her chores without complaint, constantly thought of others, and even played matchmaker.I'm not sure I've noticed this with other books, but the author never actually explains what the characters look like (at least not during the 35% I read). This doesn't necessarily bother me, it's just something I noticed. I know some people enjoy thorough descriptions.In the end, I didn't feel like there was a natural flow to the story. It seemed to jump around, and at times was even hard to follow the thoughts of one person. It also felt like they tried too hard to be "bookish". They share a backyard and a driveway, but on the surface, not much else. When an upcoming Valentines Day dance forces Nina to dodge her brother's friend and West to evade his ex-girlfriend, they tell their prospective dates they're going with each other. This launches a tentative friendship that becomes something more. Nina and West both have troubled pasts that interfere with their ability to be completely open with each other. But instead of this turning into one of those, "I wish they would just talk to each other," stories, their secrets and half truths are plausible and heart wrenching.PlotThe plotting is well done with just the right amount of drama and angst. Nina and West navigate what it means to be in a romantic relationship while their respective family issues play out around them. Both feel helpless about their situations, which leads them to make choices they may not otherwise make.The CharactersI absolutely adored both Nina and West. Nina's constant need to debate everything and her brutal honesty made her lovable instead of annoying. She sees the world in a positive light, a "glass is half full" type. West's need to move far away from home as soon as possible is utterly relatable. Both characters experienced growth through the book, but West, more so, although I would argue he had more to overcome. Their relationship felt so authentically teen, without a lot of unnecessary drama.Top Five Things I Enjoyed About THE DATING DEBATE1. Playful banter. Rather than the debates causing endless fights, the arguments between West and Nina were more flirtatious than not.2. Honesty. This concept seems simple enough -- always tell the truth -- and yet it is fairly foreign in most contemporary romances. The heart of most conflict is the inability of the protagonists to tell the truth. But complete honesty brings its own conflicts that was a refreshing change from the usual.3. West. So wonderfully complex and authentic in his teen boyness.4. West. What's not to adore about a book-loving hippie chick?5. Gidget.
