The author, Alan Reed, gives an informative history of the Pickard China company. Included is information about the artists, the dates they were active, and the type of work that they performed. Fascinating reading. There is accurate depiction and information on back stamps and the dates that they were used. The book is full of beautiful color photographs of Pickard pieces, along with dates of production and an estimated value. Also included in this book are brief discussions of other manufacurers of similar china and art glass from the same era. This book is a must for any Pickard lover.

I had glass decorated by Pickard and this was helpful although mostly about their china. This book is well laid out and informative. A good buy.

I have a favorite piece of hand painted china, signed Pickard, and also by the artist. This book, beautifully illustrated and deeply researched for company history gave me more than my money's worth of background information.
